"巴西三十歲不老女嬰"

(International) 30-Year-Old Baby Girl in Brazil

A Brazilian girl was born in 1981. Even though 30 years have passed, her body is still like a one-year-old, and even her mind hasnt grown, either. The baby girl is called Maria and she has been suffering from a strange disease, which has stopped her body and brain from growing since she was nine months old. Although there are medical centers that are willing to help cure Marias disease for free, they have already missed the best time for treatment, and Marias IQ cannot return to normal. Marias family was very poor back then that they couldnt afford taking her to the hospital. And now its her step-mother who has been looking after her. Fortunately, Marias step-mother sees her as a gift from God that she takes very good care of her.

(Children) Melissa and Josh are a couple. They are discussing the news report they are watching. Lets listen to their conversation.

Josh: Look at the kid! Can you believe that she is already 30 years old?

Melissa: But she looks no bigger than a one-year-old.

Josh: She has been suffering from a disease that stops her from growing up.

Melissa: I really dont know whether its a good thing or not.

Josh: I think no matter how cute kids are, their parents will always want them to grow up.

Melissa: Yeah I guess youre right. But if we look on the bright side, it should be better than seeing kids becoming rebellious when they grow up.

Josh: What do you mean?

Melissa: Oh please! Look at your own kids!
